Exam Date: August 17, 2025
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the notification for the recruitment of 284 Commissioned Officer positions through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2/2025. This prestigious examination serves as a gateway for enthusiastic and capable Indian men and women to pursue an elite and rewarding career as officers in one of the world’s most advanced air defense forces. The recruitment spans across key branches of the IAF including the Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical), Ground Duty (Non-Technical), and entries through the NCC Special Entry Scheme.
This recruitment drive is part of the Indian Air Force’s continuous efforts to induct fresh talent into its ranks and enhance its operational capabilities through the inclusion of intellectually sharp, physically fit, and morally upright individuals who are passionate about serving the nation. The AFCAT exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted twice a year, and AFCAT 2/2025 provides another opportunity for eligible candidates to realize their dream of donning the blue uniform.
The Flying Branch offers candidates the opportunity to operate state-of-the-art aircraft and play a crucial role in securing Indian airspace. The Ground Duty (Technical) Branch involves working with cutting-edge technologies in aircraft systems, weapons, radar, and communication infrastructure, ensuring the force remains combat-ready. The Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch, on the other hand, supports vital administrative, logistics, education, and meteorological services. In addition, candidates from the NCC Air Wing with a C certificate and a high academic record may apply directly through the NCC Special Entry Scheme without appearing for the AFCAT written test.
Joining the Indian Air Force as a Commissioned Officer is not just a job—it's a commitment to a lifestyle defined by discipline, pride, honor, and service to the motherland. The IAF provides not only a challenging and fulfilling career but also excellent salary packages, world-class training, advanced professional development, and opportunities for international collaboration and peacekeeping missions.
Whether your aspiration lies in soaring through the skies as a fighter pilot, engineering mission-critical technologies, or leading operations and logistics on the ground, AFCAT 2/2025 is your launchpad toward becoming a guardian of Indian airspace and a proud member of the Indian Air Force.
