HTET Preparation Tips
1. Know the Syllabus & Pattern Thoroughly
Start your preparation by understanding the detailed syllabus and exam pattern of your specific level (PRT, TGT, or PGT). Focus on sections with higher weightage like Subject Knowledge and Pedagogy. Download the syllabus from the BSEH official website and make a checklist of topics.
2. Focus Strongly on Child Development and Pedagogy
This section is common to all levels and is often a deciding factor in clearing HTET. Focus on learning theories by Piaget, Kohlberg, Vygotsky, and understand teaching-learning methods, inclusive education, and child psychology. Use NCERT education theory books for reference.
3. Language Skills are Critical
Both Hindi and English language sections test grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and teaching methodology in language learning. Practice reading comprehension daily, revise grammar rules, and attempt language-based quizzes regularly.
4. Master Subject-Specific Content
In TGT and PGT levels, subject knowledge forms 60 marks—the most important part. Make concise notes, revise important formulas and facts, and solve previous years’ subject-wise questions. Stick to your graduation/postgraduation textbooks and NCERT books for accuracy.
5. Solve Previous Year Papers & Mock Tests
Practice at least 10–15 previous years' question papers to understand the trend and difficulty level. Take full-length mock tests under timed conditions to build stamina and improve speed and accuracy. Analyze your performance and work on weak areas.
6. Create a Daily Study Plan
Dedicate 4–6 hours daily to HTET preparation, divided between theory, revision, and practice. Include time for solving questions and reading teaching methodology concepts. Use planners or apps to stay on track and monitor your daily performance.
7. Stay Updated with Educational Policies
For Pedagogy and Awareness sections, stay informed about current educational policies like NEP 2020, Right to Education (RTE), inclusive education practices, and child rights. These are often asked directly or indirectly.
8. Take Care of Health and Motivation
Stay physically and mentally fit. Take short breaks, eat healthily, sleep well, and maintain a positive mindset. Join online study groups or Telegram channels for HTET to stay motivated and clear doubts regularly.
