Test Structure

The EMAT 2025 exam is conducted by IIM Kozhikode for admissions to their Executive Program in General Management (EPGM). It is a computer-based test (CBT) with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering areas like Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. The exam is in English and has negative marking.

EMAT Exam Date: May 31 and June 12, 2025

Personal Interview: June 21, 22, and 28, 2025

Result: On or before July 20, 2025

Batch Inauguration: December 16, 2025

Classes Start: December 10 to 21, 2025 


Phase 2 in the first week of August 2025, and Phase 3 in the last week of October 2025. The exam is expected to be in English, with a duration of 1 hour, and approximately 60 multiple-choice questions.

Logical Venn Diagrams

Seating Arrangements (linear & circular)

Puzzles (based on conditions)

3. Data Interpretation (DI)

Focus: Reading data in various forms and solving questions based on it.

 4. Verbal Reasoning & Comprehension (Occasional/Bonus section)

How to Prepare

Step 2: Build Core Concepts (Weeks 2–4)

Quantitative Aptitude

Revise basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems

Focus areas:

Percentages, Ratios, Time-Speed, Profit & Loss

Equations (linear, quadratic), Mixtures, Averages

Use beginner-friendly books:

NCERT Class 9–10 Maths (quick reference)

Logical Reasoning

Start with:

Blood relations, directions, number/alphabet series

Step 3: Practice & Speed Building (Weeks 5–7)

Begin full sectional practice:

20 questions each from QA, LR, DI in timed sets

Focus on accuracy first, then speed

Use a stopwatch: Aim to solve 1 question in 1.5 to 2 mins max

Maintain an error log: Track mistakes & revise weak topics


Step 4: Mock Tests & Time Management (Weeks 8–9)

Take at least 3–5 full-length mock tests

Simulate test-day environment (60 mins strict)

Analyze time spent per section

Try different strategies:

Start with strongest section to build confidence

Or start with weakest to get it out of the way

Improve speed on calculations with:

Approximation techniques
